Marissa's Birthday

Marissa loves to open presents and be the center of attention. So she loves her birthday. For Christmas she wanted a swimming baby and I thought that she would forget so I was very surprised when she asked for it again for her birthday. Grandma was kind enough to get it for her. She also got a Pink dress that she put right on.

The kids had to take a bath so they can play with the swimming baby. They put on their swimsuits and climbed in to play.

Grandma gave Dallen some play soap. He colored his whole body with it. They stayed in the bath for about an hour I had a hard time getting them all to get out of the bath.

courtneys birthday

Courtney loves to throw a good party. This year was no exception. We found beach towels in January for $1 each so we figured they would make great party favors for a swim party. We had the party on her real birthday May 16Th. I took the Girls to the American Fork Pool. We spent a few hours swimming then went home to have a barbecue. We finished with a baked Alaska and everyone loved it. The cousins ended up spending the night after everyone else went home.

I made my first Rag quilt. I had so much fun I couldn't stop until it was done. I got the pattern and fabric on the way home Saturday night at 11pm. I went to a baby blessing and 2 family dinners Sunday so I couldn't start until Monday. I cut it out Monday. Made the head Tuesday. finished it Thursday and Friday. It is not the only thing I did this week.
I had a scout meeting here
Birthday party for my 8 year old (21 kids)
slumber party for my 13 year old (only 4 kids)
baseball practice
baseball game
saw 3 movies college road trip, kung fu panda, and Horton hears a who
Kept my house clean
made dinner every night.

I love having a project to work on it keeps me motivated to get the housework done so I can work on it. I am not sure if I will make the panda quilt next or curtains for my bedroom.

kung fu panda

Today we decided to have a little family fun. For the first time ever we took the whole family to a movie. Before we went to the movie we had dinner at the Chinese buffet. Then we went to a matinee of Kung fu Panda. It was cute. Derek did not sit still so David and I had to make sure he stuck around and didn't run off. I would eat after the movie it has lots of references to food and I think Chinese after the movie not before might be a better choice. $80 later we are Fed and Derek fell asleep on the way home so I have a quite evening.

Lacrosse

Nicole decided that she wanted to play lacrosse. Some of the women from BYU's lacrosse team came to her Jr. High to get the girls excited about the sport and it worked. Her Jr high had enough girls for two teams.

Nicole was pretty good. It got a little hard to tell the girls apart with all the matching clothes and goggles. Nicole made it easy for us to spot her with her socks.

We all enjoyed watching her play it was a fast season they played 3 games a week for 3 weeks then had a tournament. They came in second at the tournament.

dance festival

Dance festival is one of my favorite things at the end of the school year. This year and every year the second grade dances to "Be nice to your Brother" They dress in colorful wraps and have a good time.

I had to zoom in to get a picture of Dallen I was on the correct side of the field but I was a little to far to the right of him. I was able to get a few shots of his dance moves. He did good. He knew the dance and looked like he was enjoying himself.

Dallen's birthday

It all started with an invitation. Dallen wanted an Indiana Jones Birthday party. Easy enough I made a digital one. I took an image I found on google and put the party words over it. I printed 10 copies knowing Dallen wanted to invite 8 friends. We decided we would use the water slide and have a water party so we asked the kids to wear their swimsuits after all it is June it should be nice. That was the first mistake. I left for my Scrapbook weekend and asked Dallen to deliver his invitations.

Nice photo of the kids at the party right? Well this is only half the party. Dallens 8 friends turned into 21. Then it rained all day the day before and on the day of the party the high was in the 50's. That ruined our plans for a water party. I spent the morning googling party games and we had the party in the garage.

It was nice enough that we could do some chalk art on the driveway. Dallen invited some good artist. The kids had fun.

The party was a big hit all the kids had fun and one of the favorite gifts was a 4lb bag of Swedish fish. It took the kids 2 hours to eat most of the fish. No one woke up last night with a tummy ache so I guess all is good.
