Walking the pumpkins

Yesterday Derek came up from the basement with our Pumpkins. He has been walking them ever sense. He pulls them around by the plugs like he is walking a dog. I know it is only mid September but he really wants to put them up. We will have to go get some new bulbs for 2 of them because they do not lite up. I hope it is not because he has been dragging them around by the cords.

Nicole is Trying out Halloween Costumes. She thought she might try to be someone from Sweeney Todd. I thought she might try Mrs. Lovetts but no. So what do you think. I don't think they will let her wear it to school. I don't know the rules for the High School but at the J.H. They would not let them cross dress or have a weapon(even if it is just a table knife).

Only two at a time........

Those were Marissa's last words Two weeks ago before she broke her leg. You would have thought she might have learned a lesson. It has been a long 2 weeks. With 3 doctor visits and 3 days out of school. Marissa has to work hard to get around. It took her a week before she would use her crutches. She scooted around on the floor and wore a hole in her cast in less than a week. We had to go back so the doctor could patch the hole. I guess she is feeling better if she is jumping on the tramp again. You can't tell from the photo but her pink cast goes half way up her thigh.

Everyday Derek and I walk Marissa to school. I pull her and Derek in the wagon with her crutches and stroller. I leave her, the crutches and the stroller. After school Dallen gets Marissa in the stroller and pushes her home. When she gets home she is so tired. She even goes to bed at 830 no complaints. She use to stay up until 10 it is almost nice.

The second Saturday of each month Mom, Natalie and I take a quilt block of the month class. We just finished our third block. They do not show us what the quilt will look like they just give us the block of the month. The theme for the quilt is Americana. It is not my favorite but I did not want to sit the whole year out. I don't have a vision for what the quilt will look like but I do like the quilts that they have done the past 3 years so I hope this one will be as cute.

When we were at the store mom and I fell in love with this project so we have both started it.

I also saw another project that I liked your make a fabric bowl out of clothes line and fabric strips. I found instructions on the web. I hope to try it out this week.

life is a rollercoaster

I thought that life would get easier when the kids went back to school we would get in the grove and my life would be easier. Boy was I wrong. I have 4 kids in 3 different schools and all 4 start at different times.

WE have also had a few fun events. Lagoon with The Thompson's, a ward party, Shumways 50th wedding anniversary. School starting and Marissa's broken leg.

4 years ago Courtney broke her arm on the trampoline. This summer we figured it was finially time to put it back up. Yesterday Courtney and 3 friends were jumping Marissa got on and broke her leg. Courtney's friends didn't think it was broken. When we got back from the Dr. and they were all here they felt a little guilty.

She is doing good. It hurts and she can't move or bend it. She is on pain meds that make her silly and short tempered. Derek is doing a great job of taking care of her. She can't go back to school until she is off the pain meds and can use her crutches. She is waiting For grandpa to bring her MC donnals for lunch so it is not all bad.
